In total, in 17 prefectures of the territory there is a risk index “4” for fires.
The GG Civil Protection has informed the competent state services, as well as the regions and municipalities of the specific areas, so that they are on greater alert to immediately attend to any fire incident.

The Hardalia message to citizens
Due to the high risk that prevails tomorrow for much of the country, the Deputy Minister of Civil Protection, Nikos Hardalias, in a statement on the website of the General Secretariat of Civil Protection, wanted to draw everyone’s attention.
“My dear fellow citizens, tomorrow, September 4, a large part of our country will be in favorable conditions for a fire. Tomorrow is the most difficult day this summer, with a risk index of 4 in 17 prefectures of the territory. For this reason, I urge everyone to take extra care and avoid any activity in the field or anywhere else that could cause a fire through negligence.
The entire state mechanism has been put on alert to deal immediately with any dangerous situation. Systematic land and air patrols will be carried out 24 hours a day in all risk areas. But, I repeat, special attention and vigilance is required of all of us. I ask for everyone’s vigilance ”, said, among other things, the message from Nikos Hardalias to all citizens this Friday.
What citizens should avoid on Friday
The General Secretariat of Civil Protection advises citizens to be especially careful and avoid actions in the field that could cause a fire due to negligence, such as:
- burning dry grass and twigs or clearing debris,
- the use of spark generating machines such as circular saws, welding machines,
- the use of outdoor grills,
- bee smoking,
- throw lit cigarettes, etc.
It is recalled that during the fire season it is forbidden to burn the fields.
The 112 message about fire danger
A few minutes after 17:30 and the message from Nikos Hardalias, Civil Protection sent a warning about the danger of fire through 112.
“Avoid actions that could cause a fire. Tomorrow of very high risk in Attica. Follow the protection instructions”, he wrote the message and gave the corresponding link, where citizens can be more informed about what they have to do.
