The Greek-Turkish confrontation is one of the most serious crises in the history of NATO, comments a diplomat in the French newspaper Le Monde.

In a report entitled “Turkish provocations in the Mediterranean put an incompetent NATO in a difficult position,” the authoritarian Parisian newspaper comments that the attitude of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and the provocations in Ankara worry European capitals.

However, despite the fact that “this is one of the most serious crises” in the history of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, according to the diplomatic source quoted by the newspaper, NATO headquarters continues to officially report that the great tension between Turkey and Greece in the Mediterranean can still be overcome.

The newspaper criticizes NATO’s tactics and criticizes its complacency towards a Turkey that, although it has no alternative to the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, is essentially playing the game of Russia that wants to destabilize the western camp, as it reports.
