A 49-year-old man was arrested by the Mykonos authorities for violating measures against the spread of the coronavirus.
The man, who has a house on the island, although he had to be quarantined in a reference hotel in Athens, since he had come into contact with a person who has contracted the virus, ignored the measures and traveled to Mykonos where he was arrested. He was fined 5,000 euros.
The 49-year-old man visited the Mykonos Police Department on Friday night to file a complaint and there the police realized that he was on the EODY list of people who should have been quarantined.
More than 400 violations were confirmed on Friday
More than 400 infractions of the legislation for not using a mask, non-compliance with the prescribed distances but also the opening hours of shops were confirmed during the 57,138 police controls carried out yesterday throughout the country to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Police controls to prevent the spread of the coronavirus carried out yesterday throughout the country revealed 373 cases of non-use of a mask and non-compliance with the prescribed distances, as well as another 20 violations of the relevant legislation.
More specifically, according to ELAS, after 57,138 police controls carried out yesterday across the country to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, the following violations were recorded:
– 13 for rules of operation of stores and private companies
– 6 for a large number of clients, of which 4 in Crete and 1 in Western and Central Greece, for which a suspension was imposed. Since the beginning of August, a total of 454 related rapes have been confirmed and 28 people have been arrested.
– 1 for the operation of a store after 24:00, with the imposition of a fine of 10,000 euros and a three-day suspension of operation in Attica. Since the implementation of the measure, a total of 56 relevant violations have been confirmed.
– 1 for not completing the electronic passenger location form by a traveler. A total of 116 relevant violations have been confirmed since the beginning of August.
– 373 for not wearing a mask and for breaching the prescribed distance. Equal fines of 150 euros were imposed, as follows: 70 in Central Macedonia, 65 in Central Greece, 56 in Thessaloniki, 38 in Attica, 37 in Crete, 24 in the South Aegean, 16 in the Peloponnese, 15 in the islands Ionian, 13 in Thessaly, 12 in Western Greece, 9 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace, 9 in Epirus, 7 in the North Aegean and 2 in Western Macedonia. Since the beginning of August, a total of 10,185 infractions have been confirmed and 10,176 fines of 150 euros and 9 of 300 euros have been imposed.
At the same time, in the Cyclades, 68 inspections were carried out in shops and businesses, while 18 violations for non-use of mask were confirmed, of which 16 islands are under the jurisdiction of the TA. Milos (Milos, Kimolos, Serifos, Sifnos) and 2 in Mykonos. In addition, in Mykonos 1 person was arrested for violating disease prevention measures and was fined 5,000 euros.
According to ELAS, inspections continue without decreasing intensity for the protection of public health.
