Civil Protection is ready for fire fighting planning this summer, as Nikos Hardalias reported on the leadership of the Interior Ministry and the president of KEDE.

Mr. Hardalias emphasized that the purpose of the Model Plan is mainly to assist Municipalities in the immediate drafting and finalization of the Emergency Management Plans for Forest Fires at the local level, based on a coherent and coherent model, with analysis ensuring that they are in line with the respective “Iolaos” General Plan of the General Secretariat for Civil Protection (GGPP).
Theodorikakos: excellent work and important tool
Mr. Theodorikakos stressed that the standard design model “is an excellent job and an important tool for local government.” He also pointed out that the great reform of the multilevel government is imminent, with which the municipalities and regions will be strengthened with new responsibilities and, of course, there will be better coordination in the field of civil protection.

Mr. Libanios pointed out that today a very important “road map” is presented so that the municipalities proceed immediately with the drafting of the plans.
Papastergiou: will help institutions speak the same language
For his part, Mr. Papastergiou pointed out that “the tool that was given to us today is particularly important for the management of forest fires at the local level, while it will help all those interested to speak the same language.” He added that he will inform all municipalities about the standard plan and will guide them for its immediate and correct completion.
Finally, it is observed that next week technical meetings will be held with local government officials to clarify any concerns and questions, so that the municipalities proceed directly to the preparation of local plans and the mission to the GSPP for approval. The standard design model has been published on the GSPP website and is available.
The meeting was also attended by the Secretary General for Civil Protection, Vassilios Papageorgiou, the Director of Emergency Management of the Ministry of Education, Fivos Theodorou, the Second Vice President of KEDE Dimitrios Karnavos, as well as officials from the General Directorate of Education.
