The remains of at least 25 people were found in a mass grave on the outskirts of Guadalajara, west of his hometown. Mexicotoday announced his prosecution Halisko State.
A search of the area yielded the remains of 25 unidentified people, as well as five bags containing other bodies.
Residents of the area said a dog led to the discovery of the bones, on an abandoned farm, in one of the slums of the city of El Salto, south of Guadalajara. With the help of specially trained firefighters and dogs, the exhumation of the bodies began Thursday and will continue in the coming days, according to the indictment.
At least 115 bodies have been found since the beginning of the year. 10 mass graves in the state of Halisco, closer to Guadalajara. The powerful drug cartel, Halisco Neueva Henerasion, is operating in the area.
The pandemic of the new crown did not stop the cycle of violence in Mexico: in March there were 3,000 murders and 78 homicides, according to official statistics. Additionally, more than 60,000 people are missing, most of them since an army operation was launched in late 2016 to combat organized crime.
