[ad_1]

The students of the 3rd high school, who return to their desks after the suspension of the operation on March 11, due to the escalation of the crown, are doing a “foot job” in the schools Monday morning.

The opening of the schools will not recall the usual images of a “first day at school”, since the operation of the school units is going through … a protocol. The EODY protocol permeates all aspects of school life, and students, teachers, and parents are asked to follow directions, to return to normal conditions, to be as smooth as possible.

In accordance with EODY instructions, the first two hours of the first and second day of school operation will focus on informing students about hygiene rules, emphasizing distance and hand hygiene and wearing the mask as an optional supplementary measure.

What to pay attention to

EODY has prepared a list of everything that teachers, students, but also their parents and guardians will have to pay attention on the days when they return to their desks, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education.

1. What students should watch for

– To cough or sneeze into the elbow or tissue, which should be thrown away immediately.

– Do not put your hands in your mouth, nose or eyes.

– Wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before eating and after using the bathroom. If soap and water are not available, it is recommended to use an alcoholic antiseptic solution.

– Do not exchange objects (such as pens, pencils, erasers, bills, coins, etc.) with your classmates.

– Maintain a distance of 1.5 m with classmates in the classroom and in other areas of the school, as well as with friends and acquaintances outside of school.

– If a student develops fever, cough, or shortness of breath, they should immediately inform their parents / guardians and teacher and stay home until they feel completely well. from EODY).

2. What teachers should pay attention to

– Tell children to stay home if they feel sick.

– Teach children to wash their hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or disinfect them with an alcoholic antiseptic solution after each break and especially before taking food and after going to the bathroom.

– Help children carry out frequent cleaning of surfaces and objects in the classroom (for example, desks, bags, books, etc.).

– Inform children about the importance of not exchanging objects with each other.

– Check the number of missing students daily and inform the school principal in case the number of absent students increases.

– Take the time to inform students about the virus, but also to encourage them to talk about their fears and concerns about the virus.

3. What to be careful with parents and guardians

– Encourage children to follow EODY guidelines published at school and implement hygiene measures (Avoid close contact with people with virus symptoms and keep distance from the elderly or vulnerable family members, coughing and sneezing on the elbow or a disposable tissue that you will immediately throw away and wash your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially before eating and after eating a napkin.)

– Keep children home if they feel sick, contact a primary care doctor immediately, preferably a child who monitors them regularly, and report to school.

– To prevent children from crowding indoors with many people.

The rules

The return of the members of the school community to the schools is carried out with the necessary protection measures, which have been provided by EODY and the Ministry of Education, the observation of the distance of 1.5 meters being the most basic.

To reduce congestion during the arrival and departure of students to school, the regular meeting in the courtyard will not take place before the start of the program. Students will go directly to the classroom. The maximum number of students allowed per class is fifteen (15) and the distance between the students sitting at the desks must be 1.5 meters. Classrooms are divided into two and students will go to school in rotation. Monday – Wednesday – Friday will be half way and Tuesday – Thursday the other half, while next week it will be the other way around. Small sections (up to 15 people) will be able to operate daily.

According to the Minister of Education, Niki Kerameos, 66% of the departments of the third GEL secondary school will teach daily and not in rotation, because these departments have less than 15 students and there is no need to divide the departments. The corresponding percentage of the departments of the 3rd EPAL high school is 74%.

Regarding the design of the corridors, the relevant circular stipulates that the desks will have a common orientation and the students will sit one by one at the desk and, alternatively, on the left and right sides of the desk, not one behind the other.

Of course, the ventilation of the classrooms will be carried out and it is planned to clean them twice a day.

Rest will be different from now on. Students will not take a single break and there is also a gradual exit in order, while each class will have a different space on the patio.

Ball games (for example, volleyball, basketball, soccer) are prohibited and dining rooms will be closed.

Equipment

According to EODY, each school unit must have the protection of students and teachers as a priority with the following:

– Alcoholic antiseptic solutions for each class.

– Wet cream soap for toilets

– Towels for toilets whenever possible.

– Common cleansers and disinfectants suitable for cleaning.

Surfaces with antiviral action (homemade bleach and alcoholic solutions with at least 70% alcohol)

– Surgical and non-medical masks (for emergencies)

– Gloves, mainly for cleaning personnel, as well as for other emergencies.

EODY protocol for cases

To manage any symptoms that occur in a member of the school community, the relevant EODY protocol will be activated, based on the monitoring process and with qualifications depending on each case.

If a student becomes ill with coronary heart disease, the school is not closed. Classmates in the same neighborhood plan to leave school for 10 days. As long as they don’t show any suspicious symptoms, they will return. As for the student who may be ill, they are expected to return to school after 3 days from the onset of fever and the remission of their symptoms, as well as the passage of at least 10 days from the onset of symptoms.

It is also recalled that secondary schools and lyceums will teach until June 12, there will be no promotion and graduation exams (the evaluation of the students will be based on the grades of the four months) and on June 15 and 16 Panhellenic exams will be held for general lyceums and vocational secondary schools, respectively. For Special Schools, the suspension of the operation has been extended.

Tuition centers are also opening

Finally, with regard to the operation of educational centers, the gradual reopening of preschool levels will continue, as is the case of schools, necessarily observing preventive measures (distance of 1.5 meters between students and 15 students per department) . Classes at the 3rd Lyceum will start tomorrow, Monday, May 11, while classes at the Lyceum and Gymnasium A ‘, B’ and the foreign language courses will resume on May 18. However, the ministry recommends continuing the courses through distance learning.
