The new crown pandemic has claimed the lives of 80 other people in the past 24 hours in France and the death toll is the lowest since early April. The total number of Covid-19 deaths since March 1 is 26,310, according to the Directorate General of Health. Only four of the 80 deaths occurred in welfare institutions and nursing homes, a dramatic decrease compared to statistics from previous days.
With just 36 hours before the measures are gradually lifted, the pressure on the ICU continues to ease and only 38 new serious cases have been added to those already being treated. A total of 22,614 people are currently being treated in ICUs and wards in France.
Since the start of the pandemic, 95,829 patients have been treated and 56,038 of them have already returned home. “The epidemic is still active and the virus is circulating in many areas,” warns the General Directorate of Health, urging that social detoxification measures continue.
