The Serbian Foreign Ministry sends a note of protest to the staff of the North Macedonian Embassy in Belgrade for to stamp representing the state map of his nazi puppet Croatia in the period 1941-45, with territories belonging to Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro.

The stamp was issued in Skopje as a token of appreciation for the support given by the Croatian presidency to the EU for the Northern Macedonia European Course.

The note by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia says: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of his Republic Serbia expresses its strong protest against the printing and publication of a stamp with the geographical map of the Independent Fascist State of Croatia (NDH), which includes parts of the Republic of Serbia to Belgrade, parts of Montenegro-Bosnia and all of Bosnia. The reference to the NDH evokes memories of the citizens of Serbia and the Serbian people in general from the darkest period in recent history. Such attempts at historical revisionism have seriously disrupted bilateral relations between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Northern Macedonia, as well as cooperation and stability throughout the region. “The Serbian Ministry of Foreign Affairs characterizes the issuance of the seal as hostile provocations and immediately demands its withdrawal from circulation. “The publication of this stamp on the anniversary day of the victory over fascism is considered by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia to be a hostile provocation against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Serbia. In addition to insulting all Serbs who were killed by hundreds of thousands in NDH concentration camps during World War II, “said the protest note by the Serbian Foreign Ministry in northern Macedonia.

The corresponding stamp also provoked strong reactions from parties and organizations in northern Macedonia representing the Serbian minority.
