A man has been jailed in China for allegedly burying his 79-year-old paralyzed mother alive.
Police in northwest China rescued the woman after she was buried in the cemetery without food or water for three days.
It was his girlfriend who reported to the police about the disappearance of the 79-year-old woman.
Police launched an investigation into his disappearance and the 58-year-old woman was called to the police station. He confessed to having buried his mother in a deserted grave in southern Jingbian County, according to an official police statement.

When the police arrived at the scene, they could hear a cry for help. The 79-year-old woman was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment, where she remains stable. Her son was arrested.
