In a video posted on social media, the authenticity of which has not been verified, Minister Lechnikhonolo Moramoche appears to be buying alcohol in the capital, Maseru.
“The police are investigating. The investigations are at an advanced stage,” a police source told AFP on condition of anonymity.

Lesotho police have launched an investigation into their boss, the Minister of Public Order, who allegedly bought alcohol in violation of the ban on fighting the new coronation, police sources said today.
Moramoche did not respond to calls from the French Agency for comment.
Lesotho, a closed African country, imposed a 24-day general curfew on March 29. Prohibition measures include a ban on the sale and purchase of alcohol.
The country has not officially registered Covid-19 cases. In neighboring South Africa, more than 1,800 infections have been confirmed, including 18 deaths.
