There was a strong earthquake with a magnitude of 5.4 Richtersouth of Crete, a few minutes before 7:30 p.m. on Friday afternoon.
The epicenter was reported 19 kilometers southwest of the small coastal village of Arvi in southern Crete. According to the Institute of Geodynamics, the earthquake had a focal depth of 25.8 kilometers.
