A total of 35 kilos of cocaine destined for the drug traffickers’ circuits during the Christmas and New Year holidays were blocked by the Greek authorities in the port of Piraeus.
Specifically, according to information from the police editor of CNN Greece, Mina Karamitrou, the Drug Prosecutor’s Office had the information that at the Piraeus loading station in a box that was declared to transport food, was the amount of drugs.
The cocaine was shipped from Ecuador and confiscated 30 packs. Piraeus Customs and SDOE were informed about the case and analyzed the information that the quantity had been loaded onto a specific ship, which had left the port of Ecuador in November and had arrived at the port of Piraeus at the beginning of the month.
Authorities searched about 130 containers for more than 15 days and finally managed to find the cocaine hidden in the walls of one of them.
Investigations are currently underway to identify the cartel of drug traffickers who would receive it in Greece, while the first information does not rule out the possibility that they are people who have previously been employed by the Greek authorities for similar crimes.
