Grau and MP5 Nerfs, finally

Call of Duty just got hit with its big Season Season Reloaded patch, and with it come a number of changes to Warzone specifically, which I’ll be focusing on here today. It’s a significant patch, both in terms of what it adds, as well as thanks to a balance-of-arms pass that didn’t make it to the start of the season as many expected.

Two of the most popular weapons were nerfed in this update, though the side effects of those changes remain to be seen. We’ll start there, though you can read the full patch notes here if you want everything, including Modern Warfare.

Nerfs pistol

The Grau has been nerfed at last, mostly with reduced damage range. It has also received more high-frequency recoil, and its Archangel and Nexus barrels have had less reduction and recoil range. Although early reports say the gun doesn’t feel much different from these nerfs.

The MP5 has had its damage range reduced. 10MM ammunition has reduced its range and recoil has also increased.

The CR-56 AMAX has a reduced damage range.

The out of stock attachment has now increased rollback and worsens ADS stability.

Weapons fans

The AX-50 now has a higher damage range.

HDR will now hit lower torso at any range.

Kar98k has increased ADS speed, better hip fire spread, increased damage range.

The MK2 carbine has a faster movement speed and a greater range of damage.

The Dragonuv now has a two-hit minimum kill, a faster ADS speed, better range recoil, a faster firing speed.

The FAL can now shoot a headshot with a single hit at close range.

The AK-47 has increased ADS speed.

Shotgun bullets now have faster projectile speed, reduce ADS spread, dynamic hip spread, increased damage range, increased lower torso damage.

Braking Power rounds now apply to headshots (previously body shots could do more damage than headshots sometimes).

Warzone modes

The 200-person LTM quads are here at the moment. Curious to see how stable that is.

The Gulag weapons have spun and are now semi-automatic rifles, snipers, and one that is just fists and a throwing knife, so have fun with that.

Warzone fixes

Your gas mask now cracks when you take gas damage.

The “computer removed” message appears on the screen of your entire computer (surprising change).

Supply helicopters are now less noisy.

Patch size

Yes, this is a 22-36GB patch depending on your platform, and yet the end result is that it’s supposed to reduce the overall footprint of the game once it’s installed. We will see what it comes down to.
