On the dutch limit day
Mario Götze has founded a new club. The world champion, without a club since his contract with Borussia Dortmund ended in July, moves to PSV Eindhoven in the Netherlands. The announcement is still pending, according to the Dutch media, the 28-year-old is currently completing the medical check-up and then signing a two-year contract. The “Bild” also confirms the information.
Still on the market: the most valuable players without a club
In the Netherlands, the transfer window does not close until this Tuesday. Europa League participant PSV had previously granted the loan to Bayern talent Adrian Fein (21) – with an option to buy – and Chelsea professional Marco van Ginkel (27) perfect. In addition to new signing Fein and manager Roger Schmidt, there are four other German professionals on the PSV squad: Philipp Max (27) from FC Augsburg, goalkeepers Lars Unnerstall (30) and Vincent Müller (20) and Timo Baumgartl ( 24).
According to “Bild”, coach Schmidt was a factor in Götze’s decision. The former Leverkusen manager is said to have tried to compromise in recent days. Götze had also had talks with Hertha coach Bruno Labbadia, and discussed a possible collaboration.
PSV is currently approving Mario Götze. Announcement later tonight, if all goes well.
