First there was talk of an explosion, then a deflagration. A butcher shop in Wilhelmshaven was damaged Wednesday night. Apparently a bone saw was stolen from him.

After a blast at a butcher shop in Wilhelmshaven, high-quality production equipment is said to have been stolen. Among other things, a large and heavy bone saw is missing, which may have been removed in a vehicle, police said Wednesday night. Officials now await witness evidence. The blast occurred shortly after midnight, causing considerable damage to the building. According to police, it could also have been an explosion, as initially suspected. No one was injured.

Investigations in all directions

Fire investigators and forensic technicians secured the trails for hours from the early hours of the morning. The cause of the deflagration was initially unclear. “We are investigating in all directions,” said a police spokesman. According to initial information, a liquid was found in the butcher shop. Initially it was unknown what type of substance it was.
