Travel time is over for now. Summer holidays end in just a few days and in the last federal state of Baden-Württemberg. Classroom lessons are starting again in schools, people are returning to their workplaces, but the dreaded surge in new corona infections has yet to materialize. After the number of cases increased steadily from mid-July to well into August, a slight decline was even observed in late August. Since then, the situation has “tended to stabilize”, as the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) writes in a situation report. Just over 1000 people infected with Sars-CoV-2 were reported on average every day in early September.
