General contact restrictions
Private meetings with friends, family and acquaintances are still possible in your own home and in another home, but in any case limited to a maximum of 5 people. Children up to 14 years old are exempt from this.
Contact restrictions during Christmas
From December 24 to 26, as an exception to the applicable contact restrictions, a meeting is allowed with 4 people beyond their own home plus children up to the age of 14 from the closest family circle, that is, with members of the same household , spouses, partners and Partners in an illegitimate relationship, as well as direct relatives, siblings, siblings and their respective household members, even if this means more than two households or 5 people over 14 years of age.
Contact restrictions during New Years Eve
The exception does not apply to New Years Eve. Here, as before, only 5 people from a maximum of two households can meet. On New Years Eve and New Years Eve, a national ban on attendance and meetings will apply. It is strictly forbidden to sell fireworks before New Year’s Eve.
Schools and kindergartens
Most of the facilities are now closed in all parts of Germany or are only operated on a limited basis. Schoolchildren and kindergarten children must initially stay home for three and a half weeks.
Children are to be cared for at home “whenever possible” until January 10th. Schools are “generally closed” or compulsory attendance is suspended, which means home teaching. The same procedure is used in nurseries. But there is emergency care. There is also talk of extra vacation: “There are additional opportunities for parents to take paid vacations to care for their children during the mentioned period.”

Stores will be closed until January 10. The exceptions are: Grocery retail, weekly grocery markets, pickup and delivery services, beverage markets, health food stores, specialty baby stores, pharmacies, medical supply stores, drugstores, opticians, hearing aid acousticians, gas stations, auto workshops , bicycle workshops, banks, post offices, dry cleaners, laundries, newspaper sales, pet stores, food markets, sale and wholesaler of Christmas trees.
Gastronomy / alcohol
The delivery and collection of takeout meals for consumption at home by catering establishments and the operation of dining rooms is still possible. Consumption on site is prohibited. The consumption of alcoholic beverages in public places is prohibited until January 10. Infractions are fined.
Body care service providers
Hair salons, cosmetic studios, massage practices, tattoo studios, and similar businesses are closed because physical proximity in this area cannot be avoided.
Medically necessary treatments, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, as well as podiatry / foot care, are still possible.

For nursing home and nursing home employees, as well as mobile care services, free medical protective masks and rapid antigen tests will become the norm. To this end, federal states should order “mandatory tests several times a week” for staff at senior care facilities and mobile care teams, he says.
