When she says goodbye to the “Fernsehgarten” hearing on Sunday, Andrea Kiewel doesn’t go home relaxed. No, she drives to the airport and takes a plane to Tel Aviv. The moderator has been living there for five years. Since then, he has been traveling between apartments in the Israeli city on the Mediterranean coast and the banking metropolis of Frankfurt.
“In the ‘television garden’ season, I usually managed to get on the plane on Sunday at 6:00 pm and unlock my little apartment in Tel Aviv at midnight,” he says in an interview with “Bild am Sonntag. ” There he sat on his balcony and drank a glass of Arak brandy. This ritual brings her back. “After a live broadcast, it all hurts, that’s really the best hard work you can imagine.”
The next day, you can start a completely relaxed week in the Israeli city: “no makeup,” “in a sloppy shirt,” and “no set dates.” Kiewel enjoys life there to the fullest. Simply because it remains undetected there. The 54-year-old woman describes Tel Aviv as her “hearth home.” Because: “As much as I love my job in Germany, but I am only the woman on television and I always try to match this image. I am always a bit public.” He had also found a “very special person of the heart” in his adopted country, but he did not want to say more about it.

Just in time for the new edition of the “television garden” we will return to Germany, like this weekend. The weekly outdoor event begins on Mother’s Day with 21 episodes. According to the announcer, Guildo Horn and the orthopedic stockings, Maite Kelly, Laith Al-Deen, Cassandra Steen and Gil Ofarim will appear at the beginning of the season. Starts at 12:15 p.m.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, there will be no on-site audience and there are particularly strict security precautions in the production suite. The latest 2020 edition runs on September 27.
