Seven-day incidence out of 50
:
Wesel district becomes risk zone
Wesel District The seven-day incidence in the district was above the critical 50 mark for the first time on Tuesday. Risk Level 2 is now officially enforced across the district. The new restrictions for citizens will take effect from Wednesday.
Wesel district reaches risk level 2: because the seven-day incidence on Tuesday officially exceeded the critical value of 50 for the first time, Germany’s 10th largest district is now a risk area. The State Center for Health reported a value of 50.9. This indicates how many out of 100,000 residents have been infected with the Sars-CoV-2 virus in the past seven days.
The district crisis team met at lunchtime Tuesday to discuss the situation. Shortly after, around 5 p.m., the district issued a general decree. Risk level 2 was determined in this in accordance with the Crown Protection Ordinance. New and stricter measures to combat the pandemic will come into effect at midnight on Wednesday.
The Crown Protection Ordinance stipulates, among other things, that from an incidence value of more than 50, only five people or members of two households can meet in public. This does not apply if you are dealing exclusively with heterosexual relatives, spouses or life partners and siblings. Minor companions and people in need of assistance are also excluded.
There is also a curfew in the Wesel district as of Wednesday. This means that all catering establishments must close between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. Gas stations, supermarkets or kiosks cannot sell alcohol during this period either.
Events are limited to a maximum of 100 visitors. If the number of participants in an event increases to a maximum of 250 indoors and a maximum of 500 outdoors, a hygiene protection concept must be submitted three days in advance. Events above these limits are not allowed. In accordance with the district’s general decree, event restrictions apply from Saturday, October 24.
Only a maximum of ten people can participate in celebrations on exceptional occasions outside the apartments, such as weddings.
Also, the mask requirement is expanded. Visitors to concerts, performances, and other indoor events, as well as sporting events (also outdoors) must wear a mouth and nose guard at all times. This also applies to standing and sitting. In certain areas of some municipalities, it is now mandatory to wear a mask outdoors. The cities and municipalities themselves determine where exactly.
According to the annex to the general decree, a mask is now required throughout the old town of Moers and in the pedestrian zone. In Rheinberg it is valid in Gelderstraße, in Xanten in the pedestrian zone in the Markt area, Kurfürstenstraße and Marsstraße. In Dinslaken, masks are already a must in the city center and in Hiesfeld. The other municipalities have decided for the moment not to require a mask for commercial streets.
Because the Wesel district only transmits data from the health department to the Landeszentrum Gesundheit (LGZ) late, the numbers differ. The circle gives a seven-day incidence of 52.4 on Tuesday. However, from a legal point of view, the value published by the LGZ is decisive. The district reported 61 new people infected Tuesday.
