Anyone taking the bus or train to work or school today must expect trouble. The Ver.di union has called a nationwide warning strike on local public transport. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, Rostock is particularly affected. Among other things, employees of the Rostock tram (RSAG) went on strike, as did employees of many companies in the districts. In Nahbus Nordwestmecklenburg, for example, employees from the entire district and in the city of Wismar want to strike, and in the Ludwigslust-Parchim district, employees of the transport company Ludwigslust-Parchim (VLP).
More traffic is expected on the roads
Rebus line drivers also want to stop their work across the district and in the Hanseatic city of Rostock at 9 am Third-party companies on behalf of Rebus are also affected. Alternatively, if possible, passengers can take the DB Regio, Mecklenburgische Bäderbahn Molli and ODEG trains. With calling a warning strike, drivers also need to take into account the busiest roads because many commuters have to use the car to go to school or work.
Faults expected around Torgelow
Verkehrsgesellschaft Vorpommern-Greifswald (VVG) expects scheduled services to be canceled until 9 a.m. Even after the warning strike, there could still be isolated delays and failures, according to a company spokeswoman. This applies in particular to the Torgelow region and individual lines in the Pasewalk area. Subcontractors working on behalf of VVG and buses in the Jarmen and Loitz region operate according to normal hours, according to the spokesperson. Starting at 5.30 am, passengers can also call the Greifswald Mobility Center timetable information at (03834) 53 24 24 for information. In Greifswald, city buses are not expected to run until 9 a.m., as municipal public services are also on strike.

Due to the strike, there are no lessons for the affected students
Schoolchildren with a long way to school are exempted from classes this Tuesday due to the strike warning on public transport if their bus or tram is not running. “This applies to schoolchildren who also use school transport on their daily way to school,” the Ministry of Education in Schwerin said on Monday. However, the lessons are taught in schools in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. It is advisable to notify the school if a student is having difficulty getting to school on time or at all.
Not all transport companies go on strike
Neubrandenburger Verkehrsbetriebe (NVB) assumes that they will not be on strike today as part of the warning strikes. The NVB is one of the local transport companies in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania that has its own internal collective agreement with Ver.di. This collective wage agreement is currently valid. Also in Schwerin, all buses and trams should function as planned, as Nahverkehr Schwerin GmbH has its own collective agreement.
According to information from the NDR, the Anklamer Verkehrsgesellschaft and the Verkehrsgesellschaft Vorpommern-Rügen are not on strike. Buses and trains are expected to run there. The Ver.di union wants to enforce uniform collective bargaining rules across the country by calling for work stoppages, for example with regard to the right to leave, shift allowances or overtime compensation.
