“Covid-19 snatched Congressman-elect Letlow from us too soon,” State Governor John Bel Edwards wrote Wednesday night on Twitter. Letlow’s spokesman, Andrew Bautsch, confirmed the death of the politician in the US newspaper “News Star.”
According to the Washington Post, Letlow is the highest-ranking American politician to have died of Covid-19. It was not until December that Letlow prevailed in a second round to represent his constituency in Congress. He should have been sworn in on Sunday.
Crown disease became known in mid-December
Letlow went public with her corona infection on December 18. Initially, the politician quarantined at home. When his condition worsened, he was admitted to the hospital. Letlow leaves behind his wife and two children, according to US media. Numerous American politicians expressed their condolences on Twitter.
