Trump’s team sues in three disputed states

In the increasingly tight race for the White House for President Donald Trump, his campaign team will go to court in several disputed states. On Wednesday, his campaign filed lawsuits in Michigan, Pennsylvania and Georgia. In addition, the Trump camp, referring to “irregularities in various districts,” requested a recount of the votes in Wisconsin, which, according to the AP news agency, was for Democrat Joe Biden. This also won the state of Michigan and has a good chance of replacing Trump in the White House.

In Michigan, Trump’s team sued for a temporary suspension of the vote count. Trump’s campaign manager Bill Stepien said the president’s camp was not being given enough access to many counting locations to track the opening of ballots and the counting process, as warranted by Michigan law. Until this is guaranteed, the count must be stopped. A corresponding lawsuit has been filed in a Michigan court, Stepien said. The AP news agency was able to see observers from both parties at one of the polling stations in question.

Trump’s team also wants to stop the count for Pennsylvania. The reason was the lack of “transparency,” it said in the application. The team is suing to prevent Democratic election officials from hiding the counting and processing of votes from Republican election watchers, Trump’s deputy campaign manager Justin Clark said. In addition, he wants to intervene in Pennsylvania in an ongoing case before the Supreme Court, in which the deadline for the acceptance of postal ballots arrives.

Law enforcement agencies have reported no fraud or wrongdoing in Pennsylvania. The state had sent 3.1 million vote-by-mail ballots that take time to count. An order allows them to be considered before Friday if the postmark date is no later than November 3.
