United States: Donald Trump suspends anti-racism training for federal agencies

Amid nationwide protests against racism, US President Donald Trump ordered government agencies to block his employees from attending awareness training on the issue. The White House said Friday that the courses offered were “anti-American propaganda.”

Participants in these training courses have been told that “virtually all whites contribute to racism,” the White House said. “According to media reports, it has been alleged that some courses were stalled in the belief that the most qualified should get the job,” the statement said.

According to the White House, federal agencies have been ordered to stop spending taxpayer money on “divisive and anti-American propaganda training sessions.”

In the United States there are currently heated debates and repeated demonstrations due to ongoing discrimination against blacks. Due to repeated instances of police violence against African Americans, the debate on racism also determines the campaign for the November 3 presidential election.
