Police spokeswoman Janine Mendel said police were alerted by a witness around 10:45 am that shots had been fired in the Gebersdorf district. “A woman was lying in the street. There was a taxi in the vicinity with a dead man in it. ” If the bloody act was preceded by an argument, the relationship between the victim and the suspect, if the man who was shot was an acquaintance or was only called as a taxi driver, is still open to clarify.
But “the general circumstances and the testimony of the witnesses suggest an act of relationship,” said the police spokeswoman. There is no evidence of a terrorist background.
The suspect had not fled, but had been arrested in the vicinity of the crime scene. A firearm was found near the crime scene. The SEK was also briefly in use.
A crisis intervention team and a pastor had cared for close relatives who had come to the crime scene. The streets around the crime scene were cordoned off, the homicide squad and the forensic investigation were in place.
