Everyone thought that the coronavirus killed little Kasim (5), but the truth could be much more cruel.
Turkish soccer player Cevher Toktaş (32) claims to have suffocated his son. Eleven days after the boy’s death, he went to the police and made a heartbreaking confession.
As reported by the Turkish media, Kasim suffered from a cough and a high fever, arrived at Bursa Children’s Hospital in late April on suspicion of Covid 19. His father accompanied him, sitting by his bed in the quarantine room.
Suddenly, it is said, he got scared. In front of the investigating judge, Toktaş spoke of a “nervous breakdown”.

The newspaper “Habertürk” quotes him: “My son was lying on his back in bed. I took a pillow and pressed it to his face for 15 minutes, over and over. Then I asked for help. They came and took my son to the unit intensive care. An hour and a half later, they brought me news of his death.
No one suspected. Kasim was buried as a victim of the Crown.
Toktaş posted a photo on Facebook. He shows his other son in the grave. “Don’t get attached to the world,” wrote Toktaş.
In the days that followed, the former professional himself was so preoccupied with guilty conscience that he could no longer keep the secret.
As for the reason for the writing, he stated: “I have not loved my son since he was born. I don’t know why. But the only reason I killed him is because I didn’t like him.”
He had no problem with either his wife or his other son, Toktaş continued before the investigating judge. He was also sane.
Doubts about the confession
But as clear as the confession sounds, his family doesn’t believe in his guilt. He loved Kasim very well. The photos and videos posted on Facebook are intended to demonstrate the father’s intimate relationship with his two children.
An autopsy should now clarify the child’s true cause of death. Toktaş is in custody. If you really killed your son, you face life in prison.
