Berlin – Federal and state governments largely agreed to a shutdown to contain the crown pandemic, according to a media report. This should apply as of December 16 at the latest, “Business Insider” magazine reports. The heads of the state chancelleries agreed this with the chancery on Saturday night.

It was also said that the Foreign Ministry would prefer December 15 as the start date. The final decision is due to be made Sunday morning at an exchange conference between Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) and the prime minister.
Two households and a maximum of five people
Furthermore, according to the report, private gatherings should continue to be limited to two households and a maximum of five people, not including children under 14 years of age. From December 24 to 26, the upper limit will be increased to a maximum of ten people. Then more than two households should be allowed if they are direct relatives.
According to the report, the most controversial point still open is the issue of schools and kindergartens. Basically, it is agreed that there should be no face-to-face classes until January 10. How this is implemented really depends on the regulations of the individual countries. The Foreign Ministry advocates the closure of the nurseries, but the states want to keep them open.
