Annaberg-Buchholz – The number of new corona infections in Erzgebirge has risen to 67 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days, thus exceeding the critical value of 50.
Here’s what District Administrator Frank Vogel (63, CDU) and representatives from the local health department said at a specially convened press conference Monday. A new general decree with additional restrictions for the population is applied with immediate effect.
In the last week alone, three people have died and 577 are currently in quarantine. 25 sick people were admitted to hospitals, seven of them have to be ventilated due to a serious illness.
There are now confirmed cases of Covid-19 in eight educational institutions: Oberschule Sehmatal, Evangelical School Community Erzgebirge Annaberg-Buchholz, IAJ Institute for the Education of Young People in Annaberg-Buchholz, Annaberg Promotion Center in Adam-Ries-Straße in Annaberg-Buchholz , Ehrenfriedersdorf Elementary School, Oberschule Zschopau, ASG Recognized School Society in Annaberg-Buchholz and Oberschule Olbernhau.
Restrictions by the new general decree
In private events in public spaces as well as in sporting events, a maximum of 25, in closed rental rooms max. Meet 50 people: outdoors up to 100 people, at large and sporting events up to 500 people / spectators. Effective immediately, only one person per day can visit their family members in healthcare centers.
According to district manager Vogel, there are currently no local access points. It calls on the Pray Mountains to take responsibility for all protection rules. Since there is no blockage, there would be an average of 15 contacts for every person who tested positive.
