In the southern Black Forest, near Todtnau, a rock fell on a country road. The two-by-two-meter piece had previously detached itself from a rock, a police spokesman said. Therefore, the street was closed on Sunday night. A detour has been created for drivers. No one was injured.

Employees of the city of Todtnau and the Freiburg State Geology, Commodities and Mining Office are now examining the site of the rock spill, as a city spokesman said. It will be verified if the loose debris could threaten more accidents. So far, no results are available.

The district office in Lörrach assumes that the road should be closed for a few days for safety reasons. The rock cannot be removed at this time.

Just last fall, an entire residential area in Todtnau had been cleaned for several months because the loose rock threatened to fall on the houses.
