Several thousand people took part in a demonstration against the Crown measures in Dresden on Saturday. They responded to a call from various initiatives, including one from “Quer Think 351 Dresden”, an offshoot of the “lateral thinking” initiative founded in Stuttgart.

The crowds had to be beheaded

The theater square filled up quickly in the afternoon and it is estimated that around 3,000 participants had already attended. The organizers had registered 1,000 people for the meeting. Therefore, it was temporarily in the room that the demo should break up due to overcrowding. Folder tried to straighten out the crowd and distribute the people to the adjacent areas.

Participants present certificates

Many participants did not wear mouth and nose protection, although this is mandatory both at meetings and in Dresden city center and the entrances were controlled by the police. “Those who intercepted them at the entrances presented some kind of certificate,” reports a reporter from MDR SACHSEN. But many participants were not controlled at all. The police had announced in advance that they would check compliance with the crown’s rules at rallies scheduled for Saturday in Dresden.

Doubts about the number of people infected with corona

The demonstration began with a service led by a group called “Christians in the Resistance,” who mainly articulated religious messages and sang songs. Subsequently, some well-known figures from the “lateral thinking” scene appeared, including Leipzig lawyer Ralf Ludwig. “We are not going to put up with that,” he said, referring to the additional restrictions that will apply from Monday. Among other things, Ludwig doubted the number of people infected with corona in Germany and the effectiveness of the tests.

Other speakers accused the politicians of scare tactics and a “fundamental violation of civil rights.” The danger of corona infection has been repeatedly questioned. At the rally, another demonstration was announced in Leipzig on November 7. So “lateral thinking” wants to mobilize at the national level.
