Hamm (North Rhine-Westphalia) – On Friday, customers waited in vain for hot baked goods in front of the 200 branches of the Hosselmann Bakery – stop for a roll at Hamm!

As confirmed by the city of BILD, the bakery production in the Bockum-Hövel district was “closed for hygiene reasons by the city of Hamm” on Thursday afternoon.

As of now, in consultation with the Hamm city regulatory office, the bakery assumes that the rectification will not be completed until early next week. Then there will be a corresponding acceptance so that operations can be restarted.

“In the course of the operation, the City of Hamm will provide broader support. The incident only affects the Bockum-Hövel production plant and not a Hosselmann branch. “

A city spokesperson denied to BILD that the shutdown was related to the numerous corona infections in the city. More precise information on hygiene deficiencies could not be provided.

The displays at the branches between Drensteinfurt, Hamm, Soest and Lüdenscheid remained empty on Friday, as the Westfälische Anzeiger first reported. The supplier’s trucks did not show up, the outlets could not open.

Hosselmann himself had initially told the newspaper that it was a “technical fault”. It wasn’t until the Hamm town press office admitted that production was stopped for hygienic reasons.

According to information from the Westphalian Gazette, loose tiles, but also mice, rats and cockroaches have been identified in the production area. Hosselmann has yet to confirm it.

The company “Anton Hosselmann GmbH KG” operates almost 200 branches, around 15 of which are located in the host city of Hamm.

Hamm was recently in the headlines due to his high number of corona infections. In the city, the value of new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days was 95.5. Hamm is thus still above the mark of 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in a week, for which even more stringent requirements of the Crown Protection Ordinance apply.
