“The ship of dreams” in Morocco: perfect world in times of illness

24-hour flu instead of Corona: In the latest edition of “Dream Ship” on Easter Sunday, a successful duo caught a cold. But that is the worst that happens. It is reassuring at times like this.

The dry coffee stain on the wall, which you can no longer register. The dent in the car door that you haven’t bothered with for a long time. Or the pretty sunflowers in the driveway, which you no longer register when you return home. There are things you get used to at some point. “Look the other way,” as they say.

It is a bit similar with the “dream ship”. What a fuss it was when it became known that successful moderator Florian Silbereisen would take over the bridge at the ZDF Dino. Meanwhile, after two episodes, Silbereisen can be said to have not particularly shone or really broken anything. He just did it.

If Silbereisen smiles at the viewer at number three from the screen, then the surprise is limited. Of course, this may also be due to the fact that Silbereisen smiles from the screen quite frequently anyway. In addition to his successful work, he recently went to “Deutschland sucht den Superstar”, where he replaced Xavier Naidoo on the jury.

Rosi, I will pick you up with my “dream ship”

So now Florian Silbereisen sets sail for the third time and, as for the viewer, Silbereisen, or Max Parger, is also for the crew after some initial difficulties “their” captain of the “dream ship”. This time the script takes him to Morocco and of course there are big and small problems during the trip.

An art expert accompanies an art collection to Marrakech. The valuable images on board arouse the interest of the art forger Pit Manshold. When one of the images is changed to a fake one, the crew changes the uniform and the telescope to Sherlock’s Deerstalker hat and pipe and the investigation begins.

Pianist Rolf Maraun has completely different problems. He is on board with his ex-partner, Rosi Hager, who wants to revive their joint 1970s hit duo Rosi and Rolf, but is not interested: “Get it: Rosi and Rolf are dead!” When they both catch the flu 24 hours on land, their secret comes to light.

For those who like royalty, author Barbara Engelke has written a princess in the book. The daughter of an “African boss”, Lilani travels incognito and falls in love with fitness coach Lennart on board. But the intruder onboard photographer with a history of racism also likes the princess and harasses them.

“The ship of dreams”: perfect world in times of illness

“Silk shoes, bags, scarves,” screamed Captain Martin Grimm (Daniel Morgenroth) still burdened with prejudice about Morocco, but luckily ZDF was spared and the viewer had too many cliches. Of course, there are also regular images of Moroccan and camel markets, but also of green patios and snowboard rides on sand dunes. Everything the viewer of the “dream ship” expects, but not too much from the eighties.

But it can also drown, especially in shallow water. The fact that the “dream ship” stories are always a bit over the top is part of the ZDF series, as is the Captain’s Dinner. In the Moroccan edition, however, the viewer is saved from the large spinning mills. A successful duo, an art counterfeiter, and a princess, that’s almost realistic.

Plus: when, if not now, in times of curfew and headlines of death, you can run a bit into the famous ideal world, no matter how banal it is there. It’s a glimpse into a lost past when cruise ships were still synonymous with environmental destroyers and not floating quarantine forts, and the problems were not solved by virologists, but by a “dream ship” doctor and a nap.

Finally, the professionals on board the “dream ship” again

Another plus: this time professionals were allowed to participate again. Jutta Speidel plays pop singer Rosi, Wolfgang Fierek, her former partner Rolf. There are also Anja Antonowicz as art expert Clara Philipp, Michaela Saba as Princess Lilani, or Tommy Schlesser as Lennart Albers.

It looked very different in the first two episodes of Silbereisen. The creators obviously wanted to bring the “dream ship” to life with more side entrants: moderator Joko Winterscheidt, singer Sarah Lombardi and former goalkeeper Roman Weidenfeller were allowed to try out as guest actors. While this is not uncommon with the “dream ship”, it has not really presented the consequences.

And silver iron? “What does he have that I don’t have?” Asks captain Grimm when his colleague Liebhold tells him about his snowboard trip with Parger. After appearance number three, we know it: a still-too-fervent voice that even sounds announcements on board after a moderation show on Saturday night.

Otherwise, as in previous editions, Silbereisen doesn’t do too badly. At least so little that you’ve gotten used to it in the meantime.

After his debut as a television captain at Christmas, Florian Silbereisen, also known as Captain Parger, and the “dream ship” crew set sail again on Easter weekend. But he is not the only celebrity to have hired aboard the luxury ocean liner ZDF. These stars were already on board the “ship of dreams”.
