The breakwater blockade has been in effect for two weeks. The data shows: incidences in hotspots have even increased since then. Only two federal states show positive development.

The breakwater blockade went into effect in Germany about two weeks ago. The federal government wanted to control the exponentially higher number of infections from the corona pandemic. t-online shows the situation in the German districts in an animation. The result: the current development, 14 days later, does not show any significant improvement in the situation.

Although the rise in infections has slowed somewhat in absolute numbers, the number of counties with more than 75 new infections per 100,000 residents in the past seven days has increased significantly. And incidents at Germany’s biggest hotspots are higher today than they were two weeks ago. Only two federal states currently show positive development.

You can see in the video animation above how the number of infections has developed in German districts since the start of the breakwater blockade and which federal states have been improving since then. You can also find the publication here.
