Swiss pediatrician Remo H. Largo died on November 11 at the age of 76, announced the Piper Verlag in Munich. He became known to the general public as a book author since the 1990s.

Research and publish in the field of early childhood development. His books “Baby Years”, “Child Years”, “School Years”, “Teen Years” and “Children Happy from Divorce” have been read millions of times by parents.

Largo was born in Winterthur in the Swiss canton of Zurich in 1943 and was supposed to take over the father’s workshop. Instead, he decided to study medicine. A serious disease on the right side of his hearing and intermittent paralysis prevented him from practicing as a pediatric surgeon.

Instead, he turned to developmental pediatric research. Since 1978 he has headed the growth and development department of the Zurich University Children’s Clinic. There he also directed the “Zurich Longitudinal Studies”. He and other specialists watched the development of 900 children from birth to adulthood. The long-term study remains one of the most comprehensive in the world. In 2006, Largo resigned for health reasons, but continued working as an author. His latest book “Living Together” was published in 2020.
