A physiotherapist from the DOV national group tests positive for the coronavirus in Oberstdorf. As announced by the association, coaches and athletes are not affected.

As confirmed by the German Ski Federation (DSV) in the run-up to qualification in Oberstdorf, a member of the extended group of supervisors from the national group tested positive. Athletes and coaches are not affected.

“In accordance with the organizer’s regulations, the responsible health department and the medical staff of the German Ski Federation, all necessary protective measures were immediately taken,” said DOV: “The hygiene concept of the German Ski Federation Ski has come into effect, the supervisor in question has already left. “

After the crown case: the Four Hills tournament starts without Poland

A few hours earlier, the health department banned the Polish team from leaving. After Klemens Muranka’s positive test, all the other team members were identified as first-degree contact persons who must now go into quarantine.

On the other hand, there is Karl Geiger, who became infected with the corona virus after the World Cup of ski flight in Planica and has now ended his quarantine. A PCR test performed in Oberstdorf on Sunday came back negative – Geiger finally has the green light to participate.

Two test centers for everyone involved

The organizers have established two test centers, directly in Oberstdorf and in Kempten, 30 kilometers away. Athletes, as well as all other supervisors and coaches, as well as journalists, must be examined here. The organizing committee also wants to use this concept to gain experience for the next Nordic Ski World Championships, which will start in Oberstdorf at the end of February. The PCR test costs around 90 euros and the results are available in a few hours.
