On Saturday afternoon, officials had been called to the supermarket in Troisdorf, near Cologne. The internet video shows the suspect arguing with the camera with the police in multiple languages because he does not want to show his identification. The second man, now with a cloth over his mouth, pretends to be a translator and intervenes. Finally, the situation escalates and the “translator”, already dejected, hits one of the officials in the face.

“You cannot rule out political action”

Bonn state security has now taken over the investigation. “In view of the general circumstances, political action cannot be ruled out,” a Bonn police spokesman told the “Generalanzeiger.” In the video you can hear, among other things, how the end of the film says: “I am a person, I do not need an identity card (…) I am a person and sovereign.”

The men are being investigated for intentional physical harm and assault on police officers. They were released for lack of reasons for detention.

As Radiobonn.de reports, it is still unclear and is part of the investigation into whether the two men can really be included in the Reich citizens scene. The severity of the injuries to officials also prompted Bonn police to investigate. Both had to be treated in the hospital. The situation could only be clarified with reinforcement. Other videos, including those from the surveillance camera, are now being analyzed. Because the video posted on the Internet could not show the whole truth, according to the police. There are also online notices against police officers, which are currently being examined. (with dpa)
