The number of new infections is skyrocketing

On Wednesday, the city of Würzburg recorded 75.07 new infections per 100,000 residents over the past seven days, as announced by the State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL). This means that the number of people infected with Corona has increased considerably. The district is also approaching the nationally agreed crown limit of 50 per 100,000 residents with 42.64 new infections. The Upper Franconian city of Kulmbach and its district surpassed it on Wednesday with 54.28 new infections per 100,000 residents. According to the LGL, only Kaufbeuren (54.68) and Garmisch-Partenkirchen (57.65) are above this in the Free State.

The private celebration probably triggers

A week ago, the Kulmbach district was considered crown-free. At a private party, however, young people in particular are said to have been infected with the virus.

Effective immediately, various contact restrictions apply to public and private events in the district. Five classes at a high school and a vocational school have been quarantined.

The mask requirement must be maintained in Würzburg schools

The Würzburg district office wants to keep the mask requirement in class due to the increasing number of corona. As a first step, the health department set the district’s schools and daycare centers at the “yellow” warning level. Accordingly, fifth graders should continue to wear a nose and face mask in the classroom if the minimum distance of 1.5 meters is not guaranteed there. An open system of care is no longer possible in daycare centers and groups can no longer mix.

63 107 Corona cases in Bavaria

According to the LGL, 63,107 people have so far tested positive for the corona virus in Bavaria. So far there have been 2,645 deaths in the Free State.
