In the Regen district, heavily affected by Corona, corona measures are tightening again. As announced by the district office, there will be a total closure beginning Saturday. Nurseries are closed. But emergency care will be established. Stores must also close as of Monday.

Grocery stores, pharmacies, drugstores are still open

However, there are exceptions: grocery stores, beverage markets, pharmacies, drug stores, medical supply stores, opticians, acoustic hearing aids, gas stations, pet stores, dry cleaners, pickup and delivery services, as well as banks and the office Mailboxes can remain open. It is also allowed to open car and bicycle workshops, newspaper sales, Christmas tree outlets and wholesalers, that is, companies that supply retailers. Initially, the district office had announced that the stores were to close on Saturday, but they were later corrected.

Service providers stay open

Service providers such as hairdressers are also not affected by the closure, according to district administrator Rita Röhrl (SPD). To prevent the population from simply moving to other districts to buy, citizens of the district can only shop in their own district. So if you are caught shopping in another district with a Regener license plate car, you may have to pay a fine, Röhrl told the BR.

Strengthening of exit restrictions

Meetings will also be even more restricted. As of Saturday, no other home can be visited except close relatives or life partners. The way is allowed to go shopping, work and also exercise outdoors; the latter, however, only with members of his own household, life companions and relatives in a straight line, as well as siblings. The night curfew from 9 pm to 5 am, which was already in effect, continues to apply.

No nursing home visits

In hospitals, homes for the disabled, the elderly and nursing homes, there is a total ban on visitors starting on Saturday. Exceptions are only granted to accompany the dying and expectant parents in the Zwiesler maternity ward. All personnel must wear FFP-2 masks and be tested regularly.

District Administrator: “We don’t see any other option”

The measures should apply until December 22. District manager Röhrl promotes understanding of the decision: “In view of the high number of infections and the rapid spread, we see no other option but to increase the reduction in contacts.” On the one hand, there is a diffuse infection process in the district population and, on the other, the greater spread of the virus in healthcare centers. The hard blockade was carried out on the recommendation of the Bavarian Ministry of Health.

The Regen district still has the “top value” in all of Germany

According to the State Office of Health and Food Safety (LGL), the Regen district today has a 7-day incidence of 582.6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. Yesterday the value was above 600. No region of Germany has a higher number of cases.
