After the attack on the United States Capitol, security agencies arrested several known attackers. Among them is a man who broke into parliament with a strange headdress. He said a call from Trump followed.
After the attack on the United States Capitol, the United States judiciary is increasingly taking action against intruders. Since many of Trump’s supporters filmed their actions and showed them on social media, they have now been able to identify and arrest some familiar faces. Among them is a man running bare-chested, a spear with an American flag in his hand, and a stranger touched by Parliament. Jacob Chansley was arrested in Arizona on Saturday, the Washington prosecutor said.
Records released by the prosecution indicate that Chansley himself called the FBI in Washington and confirmed that it was the man with the horned headdress. The arrest could also be explosive for President Donald Trump. Chansley said he had come with a group from Arizona because Trump had called all “patriots” to Washington.
Burglary, vandalism and theft
Other attackers who could be seen in the photos are also in custody. Adam Johnson of Florida was taken into custody by police on Friday; it is said that he stole the lectern of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, in the Capitol.
A member of the West Virginia House of Representatives, Derrick Evans, was also arrested. He showed a video of his intrusion into the Capitol live on his Facebook page. The West Virginia House of Representatives issued a notice of the 35-year-old man declaring his resignation: “I take full responsibility for my actions.”
Also related to Pelosi’s office is a Trump supporter from Arkansas who sat in the chair in the top Democrat’s office and put his feet on his desk demonstratively. The authorities apparently already knew Richard Barnett. Now the passionate firearms advocate has been indicted in his home state after he turned himself in to the FBI. He is charged with breaking into a specially protected building, trespassing, vandalism and theft, said a senior Justice Department representative.
Weapons found in attackers
Several dozen protesters have so far been identified and arrested by the FBI and police. Police found 18 Molotov cocktails and various weapons in an attacker’s truck, an indication of what could have happened. Some of the rebels face severe penalties. After the death of a police officer, murder investigations are, among other things.
FBI Washington Deputy Chief Steven D’Antuono said the investigation will continue “around the clock” with hundreds of employees. “The riot and destruction that we saw on Wednesday will not be tolerated by the FBI,” he said. Investigators reviewed leads, photos and material from social media to identify other suspects. The FBI has already released its first wanted posters.
