The obstacle was a customer’s attire, which in the opinion of the store management was inappropriate. The woman appeared last Saturday morning at a supermarket branch in the Ruhrort district of Duisburg around 10 am with her young daughter. The mother wore pajamas, slippers and a pink polka-dotted robe, as reported by the “Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung”. According to staff, the daughter also looked like she had just fallen out of bed. The choice of clothing enraged the supermarket manager, Frank Schneider.
The 43-year-old man quickly congratulated the woman and her daughter from the store. “With a light mop,” the mother left the store, her daughter by the hand, Schneider said. “Hygiene is very important at the moment,” said the branch manager, explaining the decision according to the “WAZ” report. After the incident on Saturday, Schneider posted a prohibition sign in the entrance area of his store: “Normal street clothes. People in robes or pajamas !!! cannot enter our store !!!
