Scholz: “There are majorities on this side of the Union”
- In the state elections, Prime Minister Kretschmann’s Greens in Baden-Württemberg and Prime Minister Dreyer’s SPD in Rhineland-Palatinate clearly assert themselves as the most powerful force. “We are off to a strong start to the super election year,” said US President Habeck.
- The CDU crashes in both countries with the worst result in its history. CSU chief Söder sees the election results as a “blow to the heart of the Union.”
- The FDP slightly loses in Rhineland-Palatinate, but wins in Baden-Württemberg. The “course of independence” has paid off, according to FDP chief Christian Lindner.
