Stachus cleared: two injured after massive brawl

Mnchen – On Friday night, several groups aggressively attacked each other at the Stachus in Munich.

Around 7 to 8 pm there were “some little fights and fights in Stachus,” said police spokesman Gordon Winkel in an interview with AZ.

Several police units were at the scene.

The situation then got worse against McDonald’s: two groups young adults would have hit each other here, and four of them around twenty people behaved particularly aggressively.

The police separated the two groups, using a baton, and arrested the four main rioters. One of the four men was injured by the truncheon.

During the arrest, a bottle flew from the area, “it is not clear who it was intended for,” Winkel said.

One of the four men was hit on the head with the bottle. The two injured had to be treated on an outpatient basis at a hospital.

The incident took place at Karl-Theodor-Wiese in the English Garden. (File image)

Four counts of injuries

The four detainees, who according to the police were between 21 and 36 years old, were reported for dangerous bodily injuries, but have since been able to leave headquarters.

Since the potential for assault remained very high afterwards, the police decided to evacuate Karlsplatz.

Around 80 policemen pushed 100 to 150 people out of the square between 8 pm and 9:30 pm, pushing and shoving them.

The Stachus was released again under the presence of the police and the framework protection measures.
