Summer is long over and it was time to say goodbye to the “ZDF TV Garden”. Host Andrea Kiewel hosted her show on Sunday for the last time this year and it seemed to be quite chilly. Many viewers who commented on the show live via Twitter scoffed at Kiwi’s choice of outfits.

At the start of the show, the 55-year-old was still sporting a fall look, mostly in beige. She paired light-colored pants with white boots and a light-colored turtleneck. Over it she wore a black and white patterned jacket. It was clearly noticeable that the Berlin native was quite cool in this outfit. Kiwi kept crossing his arms in front of each other to keep warm.

Criticism of the kiwis look

Kiwi has been criticized for its appearance. Her jacket would remind of Sherlock Holmes, someone wrote. About halfway through the show, the cheerleader seemed to have finally gotten too cold, donning a dark yellow coat. But that’s exactly what caused even more malice on Twitter.

Spectators find winter coats exaggerated

Even if autumn temperatures prevailed on the Lerchenberg in Mainz, many onlookers found the winter jacket a bit excessive. “Does Kiwi really have to wear a coat for Arctic exploration?” Someone asks, for example. Others joked that Kiwi wanted to board a polar expedition ship.

There were also many comparisons. One user probably recognized a similarity to the Teletubbies and made a collage. Another recognized Kiwi in his yellow coat as the cute Bibo bird from Sesame Street.
