Numerous departures at noon
On Sunday, about 3,000 guests were at the Hinterstoder ski area at 12 p.m., but a third left at 12:30 p.m., according to Achleitner.
In Hinterstoder, restricted parking spaces in the wake of the pandemic were already full by 9.30 a.m., said Helmut Holzinger, director of Hinterstoder-Wurzeralm-Bergbahnen, ORF. With the help of the police, the cars were turned away before entering the valley.
Quarantine for foreigners
Many ski areas are open in Austria, but in fact only for Austrians. There is a ten-day quarantine obligation for guests from abroad.
In addition, the FFP2 masks are mandatory for all skiers over 14 years of age who use gondolas or chair lifts or have to queue.
