meA spate of hateful comments following a post by a young hunter has had legal ramifications in more than 50 cases. According to the German Hunting Association (DJV) on Saturday, this included sanction orders, sentences, compensation for pain and suffering or cease and desist statements.
Under the pseudonym “Waidfräulein”, the northern German woman posted a photo of herself with a fox she had previously killed on Facebook in spring 2018. The post has been commented on more than 5,000 times to date, according to information, there were over 2000 hateful comments in just 48 hours.
In cooperation with the hunting association, an Internet crime expert has successfully completed more than 50 cases, he said. Other procedures are still in progress. “In addition to the cease and desist statements, there were more than a dozen criminal and civil convictions,” the association writes. Hate commentators would have to pay a total of several 10,000 euros in fines and court costs.
For the insult of the woman with a derogatory term for the female sexual organ, 3800 euros were owed for court, lawyer and pain and suffering. “Bitch” and “junk” cost 3300 euros.
Attacks such as “slut”, “visit, tie, gag” and “shot of cargo from behind” resulted in tracking costs of 2,000 euros. “I’m just saying karma, disgusting” followed 1600 euros and “Ugly woman, take care of your health. We will find you “1400 euros in costs.
“We advise everyone affected by hate crimes on the Internet: Secure the evidence and report it,” said DJV President Volker Böhning of the cases. It takes a lot of patience, but criminals must learn that the Internet is not a loophole.
