It is not the first attack on a money transporter in recent times: in December there was an attack on a money transporter at Ikea in Schöneberg, in June a money transporter was also attacked in front of a Volksbank in Wilmersdorf. The suspects stole around half a million euros.
In September, a Santander branch in Friedrichshain was attacked and the perpetrator threatened bank employees with a weapon. Later he was captured.
