“In some phases we gave the balls too easily,” admitted Löw after the game. Striker Matthias Ginter said: “We are happy to have won. We also know that we did not play the stars in the sky. That was not our best match today.”
On Tuesday against Switzerland an improvement is needed, because against Ukraine only a few players from the German team could fully convince. One Bayern star even had a bad day.
