After the Berlin-Mitte district, Schleswig-Holstein has also designated Berlin-Neukölln as a national risk area due to the high number of corona infections.

A spokesman for the Health Ministry said on Saturday in Kiel. For vacationers or those returning from vacation, this means that they must immediately go into quarantine for 14 days or they must submit two negative corona tests within five days. The cities of Hamm and Remscheid, both in North Rhine-Westphalia, are also considered risk areas in Schleswig-Holstein.

The basis for classifying as such an area is incidence, that is, the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last seven days. According to the Berlin Senate Administration, on Saturday it was 61.7 for Berlin-Mitte and 56.7 for Berlin-Neukölln. According to the Robert Koch Institute, the value for the city of Hamm on Friday was 94.4, in Remscheid it was 50.5.

Since the end of June, the northern federal state has also identified regions within Germany as risk areas.
