After Alexei Navalny called one of his suspected killers, Russian authorities have launched criminal investigations against an informant of the Kremlin critic.

As Navalny’s colleague Ivan Zhdanov announced on Twitter on Friday, Lyubov Sobol is charged with breaking and entering and threats of violence.

On Monday he tried to visit the suspected FSB agent at his apartment, who had admitted in the phone call to having been involved in the poison attack on Navalny. She was later arrested, but released after a few hours in police custody.

According to Nawalny, the apartment of the 33-year-old woman and her family was searched on Friday morning. There was no sign of herself, her cell phone was off. Navalny suspects that she was arrested again, reports the AFP news agency.

The Kremlin rejects participation in the attack

In the 45-minute phone call posted by Navalny on Monday, in which the 44-year-old claimed to be a representative of the Russian Security Council, alleged FSB agent Konstantin Kudryavtsev admitted the attack. In the recording, Kudryavtsev reported that the poison was adhered to the inside of Navalny’s underwear.

Navalny collapsed in August during a flight from Russia. Two days later he was taken to the Charité University Hospital in Berlin, in a coma.

According to three European laboratories, whose results have been confirmed by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), Navalny was poisoned with a chemical nerve agent from the Novichok group. The substances inhibit the enzyme “acetylcholinesterase”, which is important for the normal functioning of the nervous system of humans, vertebrates and insects.

The Kremlin denies any involvement in the attack.
