In the past few days, the rate of infection with the Corona virus had been above one. On Tuesday, this was below the critical mark for the first time since Friday.
According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the rate of virus infection in Germany has again dropped below the critical value of one. In its current management report, the RKI estimates the “R” number at 0.94 (previous day: 1.07).
Statistically, each infected person is now less infected than another person. “So far, we do not expect a new upward trend,” says the RKI report.
On Monday (1.07), Sunday (1.13) and Saturday (1.1) the reproduction rate (R) was estimated at more than 1. With this value, the number of cases would increase again. RKI chief Lothar Wieler recently repeatedly said that a rate below 1.0 is very important.
