One day after a raid by the Military Counterintelligence Service (MAD) in a unit of the Office of Procurement of the Federal Armed Forces, according to the police, a senior officer committed suicide. The 63-year-old worked in one of the troop quality control centers in Ulm.

On Tuesday night, the Defense Ministry announced that the MAD was investigating in the branch of the procurement office, as a whole group of officials deployed there should belong to the so-called citizens of the Reich.

The movement does not recognize the Federal Republic as a state, government or judiciary. For almost a year, the MAD had been investigating several employees at the Ulm office following a report.

In the press release, the ministry reported a total of eight employees who were interviewed by MAD, but “the management of the regional office” was also affected.

The main suspect, including the officer who was now found dead, was immediately barred from entering the office. The suspects’ mobile phones and some computers were also seized for further analysis.

The raid and the death of the CEO should lead to more investigations. The Bundeswehr man is said to have worked for the Federal Intelligence Service (BND) before his job in the procurement office.

In the international secret service, it is said that he had many private contacts until the end. That is why it is necessary to clarify whether there are sympathizers of the “Reich Citizenship” movement, it was said this Tuesday.
